Brackenridge is a small town, called a borough, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located right next to the Allegheny River. This town is part of the bigger Greater Pittsburgh area.
The town got its name from Henry Marie Brackenridge. A long time ago, Brackenridge had glass factories. Today, a big steel mill, the Allegheny Ludlum Brackenridge Works, is very important to the community. Most of this factory is actually in Harrison Township.
In 1910, about 3,421 people lived here. By 1940, the population grew to 6,400. According to the 2020 census, about 3,240 people live in Brackenridge.
Geography
Brackenridge is located at 40°36′30″N 79°44′32″W / 40.60833°N 79.74222°W. The average height of the borough is about 827 feet (252 meters) above sea level. The U.S. Census Bureau says the borough covers a total area of about 0.6 square miles (1.45 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, and a small part is water.

Brackenridge shares its land borders with two places. To the west is Tarentum. To the north and east is Harrison Township. Across the Allegheny River to the south, in Westmoreland County, Brackenridge is next to Lower Burrell.
