Brandon William Sermons (born June 1, 1991) is a former American football player. He played as a defensive back, which is a player who tries to stop the other team from catching the ball.
Brandon played college football for the UCLA Bruins. He also played for professional teams like the Arizona Cardinals, San Jose Sabercats, and Ottawa Redblacks.

Brandon's Early Life and High School Football
Brandon Sermons grew up in Pomona, California. He played high school football at Diamond Ranch High School. He was a very talented player.
In his senior year, Brandon helped his team reach the Southeast Division title game. He made 51 tackles in 12 games that season. Experts thought he was one of the best players in California. He was rated as a top cornerback in the country. Brandon also participated in track and field in high school.
College Football Career at UCLA
Brandon played college football for the UCLA Bruins from 2009 to 2013. He had a strong start, playing in nine games during his first year.
In 2010, he had a leg injury and couldn't play that season. But he came back strong! He played in many games in 2011 and 2012.
During his senior year in 2013, Brandon played in 12 games and started four of them. He made 38 tackles that year. He had his best game against the Washington Huskies, making seven tackles. He also had six tackles in the 2013 Sun Bowl game against Virginia Tech.
Overall, Brandon played in 42 college games. He made a total of 46 tackles. While playing football, he also studied anthropology at UCLA.
Playing Professional Football
After college, Brandon Sermons tried out for professional teams.
NFL: Arizona Cardinals
In 2014, Brandon signed with the Arizona Cardinals in the National Football League (NFL). This was after the 2014 NFL draft, where teams pick new players. He was with the Cardinals for a short time before being released.
AFL: San Jose Sabercats
Later in 2014, Brandon joined the San Jose Sabercats in the Arena Football League (AFL). This league plays football indoors on a smaller field. He was with the team until March 2015.
CFL: Ottawa Redblacks
In May 2015, Brandon signed with the Ottawa Redblacks in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The CFL has slightly different rules than the NFL.
During the 2015 CFL season, Brandon played in seven games for the Redblacks. He made six defensive tackles and five special teams tackles. He even got one sack! He also played in the 103rd Grey Cup, which is the championship game for the CFL.
In 2016, Brandon played in two more games for the Redblacks. He made three defensive tackles and two special teams tackles. He was released by the team in July 2016.
