Bratenahl (/ˈbrætənɑːl/ BRAT-ən-ahl) is a small village in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. It is located on the southern shore of Lake Erie.
Bratenahl is one of Cleveland's oldest suburbs. It is surrounded by the city of Cleveland on three sides. The northern border of the village is the Lake Erie shoreline. In 2020, the population of Bratenahl was 1,430 people.

History of Bratenahl
Bratenahl became an official village in 1903. It was named after its founder, Charles Bratenahl. This village is one of the older residential suburbs near Cleveland. Other older suburbs include Shaker Heights and Lakewood.
Bratenahl is known for being a wealthy community. It has many large homes, townhouses, and condominiums, especially along the lakefront. Its famous Lake Shore Boulevard has even been shown in magazines.
In 1967, two large apartment buildings were built on the lakefront. These buildings are called Bratenahl Place. They were designed in a style called Brutalist. One building started as apartments for rent, and the other was always meant to be condominiums. In 1976, the larger building also became condominiums.

The United States Census Bureau says the village has a total area of about 1.60 square miles (4.14 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 1.02 square miles (2.64 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 0.58 square miles (1.50 square kilometers), is water.
