The football match between Brazil and Germany on 8 July 2014 was a semi-final game in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Germany won the match 7–1. This was the biggest win ever in a FIFA World Cup semi-final.
Some people called this game the "Miracle of Belo Horizonte". Others called it the Mineirazo (pronounced "Mee-nay-RAH-zoh"). This name compares it to the famous "Maracanazo" from the 1950 World Cup. In that game, Brazil also lost an important match against Uruguay.
What Happened Before the Game?
This was only the second time Brazil and Germany had played each other in a World Cup. Their first game was the final of the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Before this big semi-final, Brazil faced some tough news. Their star player, Neymar, got a serious back injury (a fractured vertebra) in the game against Colombia. This meant he couldn't play. Also, Brazil's captain, Thiago Silva, couldn't play because he had too many yellow cards. These were big losses for the Brazilian team.
