Breckin Meyer (born May 7, 1974) is an American actor and writer. He is famous for his voice work on the animated TV show Robot Chicken. His work on the show has earned him two Annie Awards and five nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award.
Many people know Meyer from his roles in popular 1990s movies. These include Clueless (1995) and The Craft (1996). He became even more famous as the main star of the comedy movie Road Trip (2000).
He also starred in other fun movies like Rat Race (2001) and Kate & Leopold (2001). Meyer is well-known for playing Jon Arbuckle, the owner of the famous cat Garfield, in Garfield: The Movie (2004) and its sequel, Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006). He also appeared in Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005) and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009).
On television, Meyer starred in the legal comedy-drama Franklin & Bash from 2011 to 2014. He also provided the voice for the character Joseph Gribble on the animated show King of the Hill.

Early Life and First Roles
Breckin Meyer was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His mother, Dorothy, was a travel agent, and his father, Christopher, was a consultant. He has an older brother named Frank and a younger brother named Adam. During his childhood, his family lived in several states, including California, Texas, and New Jersey.
Meyer went to elementary school with actress Drew Barrymore. Through her, he met an agent who helped him start his acting career. As a young boy, he appeared in TV commercials. He also attended Beverly Hills High School.
Acting Career
Breakthrough Movie Roles
Meyer's first movie role was in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991). His big break came with the popular teen movie Clueless (1995), where he played the fun-loving skateboarder, Travis. He played similar characters in movies like The Craft (1996) and Escape from L.A. (1996).
In 1998, he appeared in 54, a movie about the famous Studio 54 nightclub. In the film, he played a busboy married to a coat check girl, played by Salma Hayek. Meyer is good friends with actor Ryan Phillippe, and they started a production company together with their friend Seth Green.
Stardom in the 2000s
In 2000, Meyer starred in the hit comedy Road Trip. He played a college student on a long journey to get back a video he accidentally mailed to his girlfriend. This role made him a leading man in Hollywood.
He then starred in the ensemble comedy Rat Race (2001), which was about a group of people racing to find a hidden treasure. He also played Meg Ryan's brother in the romantic comedy Kate & Leopold (2001).
One of his most famous roles was playing Jon Arbuckle in Garfield: The Movie (2004). He returned to the role for the sequel, Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, in 2006.

Meyer is a talented voice actor. He is a writer and regular voice actor on the animated show Robot Chicken. He has been nominated for an Emmy Award for his writing on the Robot Chicken: Star Wars specials.

Music Career
Besides acting, Meyer is also a musician. He plays the drums and has performed with the punk band The Street Walkin' Cheetahs. He has also played with other musicians like Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, Ben Harper, and Slash.
He was the drummer for Tom Morello's band, The Freedom Fighter Orchestra, and toured with them in 2008.
Personal Life
Meyer married screenwriter and director Deborah Kaplan in 2001. They have two daughters together. The couple divorced in 2014.
As of 2024, he is in a relationship with Kelly Rizzo, the widow of actor and comedian Bob Saget.
His brother, Frank Meyer, is a producer who has worked for the website of the G4 television channel.
