Breitenbush Lake is a beautiful, large lake located high up in the mountains of Oregon. It is found in the Cascade Range, just north of Mount Jefferson. This lake is about 65-acre (26 ha) in size. It gets its water from small streams and underground water. The lake is part of the North Fork Breitenbush River area.

Where is Breitenbush Lake?
Breitenbush Lake is in Marion County. It is very close to the border with Jefferson County. The lake is inside the Mount Hood National Forest. It is also part of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. The lake sits at a high elevation, about 5,500 feet (1,700 m) above sea level.
Visiting the Lake
A road called Forest Road 4220 runs right by Breitenbush Lake. There is a place to camp called Breitenbush Lake Campground. The United States Forest Service takes care of this campground.
Camping and Activities
The campground has 20 spots for campers. It also has a special toilet building. However, there is no garbage service, so visitors must take their trash with them. You can use canoes on the lake, which is a fun way to explore. But, motorboats are not allowed on the water.
Fishing at the Lake
Breitenbush Lake is a great spot for fishing. It is home to rainbow and brook trout. These fish are usually between 6 to 12 inches (15 to 30 cm) long. The lake is regularly stocked with fish, meaning more fish are added for people to catch.
Getting There
Forest Road 4220, which leads to the lake, can be a bit rough. Heavy snow usually closes the road to most cars from mid-October until the end of June. When the road is covered in snow, you can still reach the lake. People often use snowshoes, cross-country skis, or snowmobiles to get there.
