Bremen (pronounced BREE-mən) is a small town in Marshall County, Indiana, United States. It is located in German Township. The town is sometimes called "The Mint City." In 2020, about 4,696 people lived there.

History of Bremen
Bremen was officially started in 1851. Many of the first people who settled here came from Germany. That's why they named the town Bremen, like the city in Germany.
Two important buildings in Bremen are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These are the Bremen Water Tower and the Dietrich-Bowen House. This means they are special places protected for their history.
Geography and Location
Bremen is in the northeastern part of Marshall County. It sits at an elevation of about 854 feet (260 meters) above sea level.
Roads and Nearby Towns
Several roads help people travel to and from Bremen. U.S. Route 6 goes around the north side of town. It connects Bremen to Nappanee to the east and Walkerton to the west.
Indiana State Road 331 runs through the middle of Bremen. It goes north to Mishawaka and south to Bourbon. State Road 106 also passes through the town, going east and west.
Plymouth, which is the main city of Marshall County, is about 15 miles southwest of Bremen.

Bremen covers an area of about 2.84 square miles (7.35 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. A very small part is water. The Yellow River flows along the western edge of the town. This river eventually joins the Kankakee River.
