Brevin Adon Knight (born November 8, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player. He was a point guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Brevin played for nine different teams from 1997 to 2009.
He played college basketball at Stanford University. The Cleveland Cavaliers drafted him in 1997. Today, he works as a color commentator for the Memphis Grizzlies. You can hear him on Bally Sports Southeast.

Early Life and High School Success
Brevin Knight grew up in East Orange, New Jersey. He went to Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, New Jersey. His high school basketball team won state championships three years in a row. These wins happened during his sophomore, junior, and senior years.
He was also named to the Newark Star-Ledger All-State First Team. Even with all these achievements, not many colleges tried to recruit him at first. He signed with Stanford University later than most players.
College Basketball Career
Brevin Knight had a very successful time playing basketball at Stanford. He holds the school record for the most assists with 780. He also has the most steals with 298. He is the third-highest scorer in Stanford's history, with 1,714 points.
After his great college career, the Cleveland Cavaliers chose him. He was the 16th player picked in the 1997 NBA draft.
NBA Career Highlights
Brevin Knight was drafted as the 16th pick in the first round of the 1997 NBA draft. In his first year, he led the entire NBA in steals per game. He was also named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. This means he was one of the best new players in the league.
During his career, he played for many teams. These included the Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards, Milwaukee Bucks, Charlotte Bobcats, Los Angeles Clippers, and Utah Jazz. On average, he scored 7.3 points and made 6.1 assists per game. On January 21, 2001, while playing for the Hawks, he scored a career-high 31 points. He also grabbed 10 rebounds in that game.
In 2004, the Charlotte Bobcats signed Brevin Knight. They were a brand new team in the NBA. He was one of their best players in their first season, 2004–05. He averaged 10.1 points, 9 assists, and 1.98 steals per game. He finished second in the league for assists per game that year. Only Steve Nash, who later won the MVP award, had more assists. Brevin played three seasons with the Bobcats. He was then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2007. In 2008, he was traded again to the Utah Jazz.
Life After Basketball
After his playing career ended, Brevin Knight joined the Memphis Grizzlies broadcast team. In 2010, he became a color commentator for them. This means he helps explain the game during broadcasts on Fox Sports Tennessee.
Personal Life
Brevin Knight is married to his wife, Deena. They have two daughters named Brenna and Kayla. They also have a son named Donevin.
Brevin is also the brother of Brandin Knight, who was also a basketball player.
