Brevin Adon Knight, born on November 8, 1975, is a former American professional basketball player. He was a point guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 12 years, from 1997 to 2009. Knight played college basketball for the Stanford Cardinal. The Cleveland Cavaliers chose him in the 1997 NBA draft. Since 2010, he has been a color commentator for the Memphis Grizzlies on Bally Sports Southeast.

Early Life and College Basketball
Brevin Knight grew up in East Orange, New Jersey. He went to Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, New Jersey. His high school basketball team won New Jersey state championships three years in a row. He was named to the Newark Star-Ledger All-State First Team.
Knight later attended Stanford University. At Stanford, he became the school's all-time leader in assists with 780. He also led in steals with 298. He was the third-highest scorer in Stanford history, with 1,714 points.
Professional Basketball Career
The Cleveland Cavaliers picked Brevin Knight as the 16th player in the first round of the 1997 NBA draft. In his first year, he led the NBA in steals per game. He was also named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.
Knight played for nine different NBA teams during his career. These teams included the Cavaliers, Atlanta Hawks, Memphis Grizzlies, Phoenix Suns, Washington Wizards, Milwaukee Bucks, Charlotte Bobcats, Los Angeles Clippers, and Utah Jazz. Over his career, he averaged 7.3 points and 6.1 assists per game.
On January 21, 2001, while playing for the Hawks, Knight had his best scoring game. He scored 31 points and also got 10 rebounds. This happened during a game against the Washington Wizards.
In 2004, the Charlotte Bobcats signed Knight. This was for their very first season in the NBA, the 2004–05 NBA season. He averaged 10.1 points, 9 assists, and 1.98 steals per game for the Bobcats. He finished second in the league for assists per game, right behind MVP Steve Nash. Knight played three seasons with the Bobcats. He was released by the team on June 29, 2007.
On August 13, 2007, Knight signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. He was later traded to the Utah Jazz on July 23, 2008, in exchange for Jason Hart.

Life After Playing Basketball
After retiring from playing, Brevin Knight joined the Memphis Grizzlies broadcast team in 2010. He works as a color commentator for their games on Fox Sports Tennessee. This means he helps explain the game during broadcasts.
Brevin Knight is married to Deena. They have two daughters, Brenna and Kayla, and a son named Donevin. His brother, Brandin Knight, also played basketball.
