Brandin Adar Knight (born December 16, 1981) is an American basketball coach and former player. He is currently an associate head coach for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights basketball team.

Brandin Knight's Early Life
Brandin Knight grew up in East Orange, New Jersey. He played high school basketball at Seton Hall Preparatory School in West Orange, New Jersey. Brandin is also the brother of another basketball player, Brevin Knight.
College Basketball Career
Brandin Knight was a 6-foot-tall point guard (a player who leads the team's offense). He played college basketball for the Pittsburgh Panthers team. During his time there, he scored an amazing 1,440 points.
In the 2002-03 season, Brandin was named to the Wooden All-American team. This means he was recognized as one of the best college players in the country. He also received an honorable mention All-American award from the Associated Press. In the 2001-02 season, he was named a Third Team All-American by the Associated Press. Sporting News also named him a Second Team All-American that year.
Big East Conference Achievements
Brandin Knight had a fantastic 2001-02 season. He was named the co-Player of the Year for the Big East Conference. He was also chosen as the Most Improved Player in the Big East.
He earned a spot on the First Team All-Big East and the All-Big East tournament team. In the 2002-03 season, he was named to the Second Team All-Big East.
Brandin was also a two-time All-Region selection by the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA). He won the USBWA Region Player of the Year award in 2001-02.
Setting Records at Pitt
Brandin Knight finished his college career at Pitt as a record-holder. He set school records for:
- Most career assists (785)
- Highest career assist average (6.2 assists per game)
- Most career steals (298)
- Most assists in a single season (251 in 2001-02)
- Most minutes played in a single season (1,284 in 2001-02)
To honor his amazing career, Pitt retired his #20 jersey. This means no other player on the team will wear that number again. His jersey was retired before a game on March 4, 2009.
Professional Basketball Career
After college, Brandin Knight played professional basketball for two seasons. He played for the Asheville Altitude in the NBDL (now called the NBA G League).
He later signed a contract with the NBA's Houston Rockets. However, he got an injury just two weeks later. This injury sadly brought his playing career to an end.
Coaching Career
After his playing days, Brandin Knight started a new career in coaching.
Coaching at Pittsburgh
In the 2007-08 season, he worked as the Director of Basketball Operations for the Pittsburgh men's basketball team. In June 2008, he was promoted to an assistant coach. He stayed with the Pittsburgh Panthers for eight seasons.
Coaching at Rutgers
On April 13, 2016, Brandin Knight became the new assistant head coach for the Rutgers basketball team. He continues to be a key part of their coaching staff today.
