Broc is a small town, also called a municipality, in the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland. It's located in the Gruyère district.

History of Broc
Broc was first mentioned in old records in the year 1115. For a while, it was also known by its German name, Bruck, but people don't use that name anymore.
A very important event for Broc happened in 1898. This is when the famous Cailler chocolate factory opened its doors here. Because of the factory, many new people moved to Broc. The town's population actually tripled! The factory also had its own power plant, which used water from the Jogne River. This plant helped bring electricity to the entire village.

Broc covers an area of about 10 square kilometers (about 4 square miles). A large part of this land, almost 42%, is used for farming. Another big part, about 44%, is covered by forests.
About 9% of Broc's land has buildings and roads. Rivers and lakes make up nearly 3% of the area. The town is located in the Greyerz district. It sits on the road that connects Bulle and Boltigen, not far from the Jaun Pass.
