Brock Trotter's Hockey Journey
Starting Out in Hockey
Brock Trotter began his hockey career playing in college. He played for the University of Denver in a league called the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. This helped him get ready for professional hockey.
Playing in the NHL
In 2008, Brock was called up to play for the Hamilton Bulldogs, a team in the American Hockey League (AHL). The AHL is a league where players often develop their skills before joining the NHL.
On February 6, 2010, Brock finally made his big debut in the NHL with the Montreal Canadiens. He played against the Pittsburgh Penguins and his team won! He played two games in the NHL before returning to the Hamilton Bulldogs. He was a very important player for the Bulldogs, scoring 36 goals and getting 77 points that season.
Adventures in Europe
After his time with the Canadiens, Brock decided to play hockey in Europe. In 2010, he signed a contract with Dinamo Riga in Latvia, which is part of the KHL league.
He returned to North America briefly in 2011, signing again with the Canadiens. However, he was soon traded to the Phoenix Coyotes and then to the St. John's IceCaps.
After taking two seasons off due to injuries, Brock returned to play in 2014. He joined KHL Medveščak Zagreb in Croatia, which was also in the KHL. He later played for Dinamo Riga again.
Brock continued his career in different European countries. He played for IF Björklöven in Sweden, and then for SaiPa and Oulun Kärpät in Finland. In 2017, he signed with ERC Ingolstadt in Germany.
He had another short tryout in North America with the Chicago Wolves in 2017, but then returned to Europe. He played for Dornbirner EC in Austria and HKM Zvolen in Slovakia.
More recently, Brock played for Dragons de Rouen in France, ASC Corona Brasov in Romania, and Starbulls Rosenheim in Germany. In 2022, he was set to join Coventry Blaze in the EIHL in the United Kingdom, but that plan changed.
