Brooklyn Sudano is an American actress and director. She is known for her roles in TV shows and movies. You might remember her as Vanessa Scott in the TV comedy My Wife and Kids. She also played the main character in the 2006 drama film Rain.
Brooklyn has appeared in many other films. These include Alone in the Dark II (2008) and Turn the Beat Around (2010). She also starred in the action TV series Taken in 2017. Brooklyn Sudano is the daughter of famous singer Donna Summer and songwriter Bruce Sudano. She is also the older sister of Amanda Sudano, who is part of the music group Johnnyswim. In 2023, Brooklyn directed a documentary film about her mother called Love to Love You, Donna Summer.

Early Life and Education
Brooklyn Sudano was born in Los Angeles, California. Her mother was Donna Summer, a famous African American singer. Her father was Bruce Sudano, an Italian American songwriter. She was named after her father's hometown, Brooklyn, New York City. Her younger sister, Amanda Sudano, is also a singer. Brooklyn also has an older half-sister named Mimi. When she was a baby, Brooklyn was even featured in her mother's song "Brooklyn."
Brooklyn spent her early childhood on a ranch in Thousand Oaks, California. When she was 10, her family moved to Connecticut. Later, at age 14, they moved to Nashville, Tennessee. In Nashville, Brooklyn became very interested in the arts. She also sang in her church's gospel choir. During summers, Brooklyn and her sisters would tour with their mother. They often sang backing vocals for her concerts. In her free time, Brooklyn loved to dance and write songs.
She went to high school at Christ Presbyterian Academy. There, she acted in all the school plays. Sometimes, she would travel with her parents on their tours. She continued her studies with tutors while on the road. Brooklyn was a very good student. She was the top student, or valedictorian, when she graduated.
After high school, Brooklyn chose to attend Vanderbilt University. She had also been accepted into other great schools like Brown and Duke. However, she left Vanderbilt early to study acting. She went to the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Acting Career Highlights
While studying acting in New York, Brooklyn was noticed by a modeling agent. She signed with the Ford Modeling Agency. She appeared in many ads for print and TV. Some of these were for brands like Clairol and Clean & Clear.
In 2003, Brooklyn got a big acting role. She took over the part of Vanessa Scott on the TV show My Wife and Kids. Vanessa was Junior's girlfriend and later his wife. The character first appeared in season 3. Brooklyn stayed on the show as a regular cast member for the rest of its five-year run.
In 2006, Brooklyn made her first big movie appearance. She played the main role in the film Rain. This movie was based on a novel by V. C. Andrews. She also appeared in horror films like Somebody Help Me (2007). Another one was Alone in the Dark II (2008). In 2010, she was in the romantic drama Turn the Beat Around.
In 2015, Brooklyn co-starred in the romantic comedy-drama With This Ring. She acted alongside Regina Hall and Jill Scott. Personal Life
Brooklyn Sudano married her longtime boyfriend, Mike McGlaflin. They got married on October 8, 2006. Their wedding even inspired her father, Bruce Sudano, to write a song called "It's Her Wedding Day."
Brooklyn and Mike McGlaflin have one daughter. They live in the Los Angeles area.
