Anthony Hugh "Buddy" Jackson II (born March 3, 1989) is an American former professional football player. He was a talented cornerback, a defensive position in football. Buddy played in both the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL).
He played college football at the University of Pittsburgh. He also attended Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Florida. Buddy Jackson was part of several NFL teams, including the Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys. In the CFL, he played for teams like the Calgary Stampeders and BC Lions.

Buddy Jackson's Early Life and Sports
Buddy Jackson grew up in Plantation, Florida. He went to Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Florida. There, he was a top athlete in many sports.
He played varsity football for three years. He was a starting cornerback for two of those years. Besides football, Buddy also played basketball. He was also a great track athlete. He even won a district championship in the 100-metre dash.
College Football Career
After high school, Buddy Jackson went to the University of Pittsburgh. He played college football for the Pittsburgh Panthers. He was on the team from 2008 to 2011.
In 2007, he was redshirted. This means he practiced with the team but did not play in games. This allowed him to gain experience and keep an extra year of eligibility. During his final year, he made 34 tackles. He also broke up four passes and recovered one fumble.
Playing Professional Football
Buddy Jackson started his professional football journey in 2012. He was not chosen in the 2012 NFL draft. However, the Indianapolis Colts signed him as a free agent. He later spent time with several other NFL teams. These included the Washington Redskins, New York Giants, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Dallas Cowboys. For most of these teams, he was part of their practice squad. A practice squad is a group of players who train with the team but are not on the main roster.
Playing in the CFL
Buddy Jackson found a home in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He joined the Calgary Stampeders in 2013. He spent his first season on their practice roster. He made his official CFL debut in June 2014.
During the 2014 CFL season, he played in 12 games. He made 42 tackles as a starting cornerback. That year, his team, the Calgary Stampeders, won the Grey Cup. The Grey Cup is the championship trophy of the CFL. This was a major highlight of his career.
After playing for the Stampeders, Buddy joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2016. He played six games for them. He made 21 tackles during the 2016 CFL season.
In 2017, he signed with the BC Lions. He played one season with them. He made 17 defensive tackles and four special teams tackles. He also got his first career interception, which is when a defensive player catches a pass meant for an offensive player.
