Budgam is a town in the Jammu and Kashmir region of India. It is also known as Badgom in the local Kashmiri language. The name "Badgom" means "big village."
Budgam is an important town in the Budgam district. In 2001, it was a "notified area committee," which is a type of local government. By 2011, it had become a "municipal committee," meaning it has its own elected local government.
