Burdett is a small village located in Schuyler County, New York, in the United States. It is found within the Town of Hector. The village is just east of Seneca Lake and northeast of Watkins Glen. In 2020, about 331 people lived there.

History of Burdett
Burdett holds a special place in the history of the Town of Hector. It was the very first place where people settled in the area. This happened around the year 1790.

Natural Features and Trails
New York State Route 79 and Logan Creek both pass through the village, making them important local features. Burdett is also part of the beautiful Finger Lakes District. This region is known for its long, narrow lakes.
A very long walking path, the Finger Lakes Trail, also goes through the center of Burdett. This trail is 584 miles long and stretches across New York State. It enters Burdett from the west and then heads north towards the Finger Lakes National Forest.
