CBL Munchee Bangladesh is a very popular biscuit brand in Bangladesh. It belongs to a company called Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL). CBL is a big company from Sri Lanka with over 50 years of experience. They make tasty snacks and are known in many countries.
CBL decided to open a factory in Bangladesh in 2014. This factory is in Sreepur Upazila, Gazipur, about 35 kilometers from Dhaka. It was the first time a Sri Lankan company built a snack factory outside Sri Lanka. Making biscuits in Bangladesh was cheaper than sending them from Sri Lanka. This was because of high taxes on imported snacks. The factory also helped CBL send Munchee biscuits to other countries. They planned to export to Nepal, Bhutan, and even places like Europe. This was easier because Bangladesh has special agreements for exports.
CBL Munchee started selling its products in Bangladesh in 2015. By 2019, Munchee biscuits were sold in 55 different countries. CBL also works with Concord Entertainment Co. Ltd. to show off Munchee at Fantasy Kingdom, a fun park.

Digital Campaign Success
In 2017, Munchee and The Daily Star worked together. They created a social media campaign for Mother's Day. It was called "Mayer Daka Naam," which means "the name my mother calls me by." People were asked to post their special nicknames on Facebook. This campaign won two awards at the South Asian Digital Media Awards 2017. It was named the Best Digital Advertising Campaign. It also won for the Best in Social Media Engagement. These awards were given by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) and Google.
