Mondelez Ireland Production Limited, known as Cadbury, is a famous company in Ireland. They make delicious chocolates and sweets! Their main office is in Coolock, Dublin. Cadbury Ireland is part of a bigger company called Mondelēz International. They send over 200 different products to 30 countries around the world. This helps Ireland's trade a lot, bringing in about €110 million. Cadbury Ireland also uses ingredients from local Irish farms.

The company has two factories in Ireland. One is in Coolock, Dublin, where their main office is. The other factory is in Rathmore in County Kerry.

The Sweet Story of Cadbury Ireland

Cadbury started a long time ago in 1824 in Birmingham, England. John Cadbury was the founder. Cadbury Ireland built its first Irish factory in Dublin in 1933. Back then, the company made and sold only three products.

In 1948, Cadbury built another factory in Rathmore, County Kerry. This factory made chocolate crumb, which is an important ingredient for chocolate. In 1957, the first Dublin factory closed. All production moved to the current site in Coolock. The popular Twirl chocolate bar was even invented at the Coolock factory in the 1980s.

In 2010, a company called Kraft Foods bought Cadbury. Two years later, in 2012, Kraft Foods created a new company called Mondelez. Mondelez was made to own many famous brands, including Cadbury. In 2013, Cadbury Ireland Limited officially changed its name to Mondelez Ireland Production Limited. However, the company still uses the name Cadbury for its products.

In 2015, the company announced some changes. They closed their Tallaght plant. Some production from Coolock also moved to Poland. This resulted in about 200 job changes.
