Caleb Holley's Football Journey
Starting His Career
Caleb Holley began his professional journey in 2014. He joined the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent. This means he wasn't chosen in the main player draft but was signed later. Even though he tried hard, he didn't stay with the Bills.
In early 2016, Caleb played for the Sioux Falls Storm in the Indoor Football League. He had a great season, catching 40 passes for 650 yards. He also scored 21 touchdowns! Caleb helped the Storm win the United Bowl championship that year. He was even named the IFL Offensive Player-of-the-Week once.
Playing in Canada
In August 2016, Caleb moved to the Canadian Football League (CFL). He signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. For two years, he was a key player, gaining over 600 receiving yards each season. He signed an extension in 2017 to stay with the team.
However, in 2018, Caleb played in fewer games. He had fewer catches and no touchdowns that year. He also missed the team's playoff games. After the season, Caleb and the Roughriders did not agree on a new contract. He became a free agent in February 2019.
Moving to Ottawa
Caleb then signed a one-year contract with the Ottawa Redblacks in February 2019. The 2019 season was tough for the Redblacks. The team had a difficult time winning games. Even so, Caleb played more in Ottawa than he did with the Roughriders. He caught 48 passes for 487 yards. His contract ended in February 2020, and he became a free agent again.
Short Stays with Other Teams
In February 2020, Caleb signed with the BC Lions. But the entire 2020 CFL season was canceled due to world events. He became a free agent again in February 2021.
On January 26, 2022, Caleb signed with the Edmonton Elks of the CFL. He played in two games for the Elks, catching 8 passes for 101 yards. He was released by the team in July 2022.
Current Team: Vegas Knight Hawks
On September 1, 2022, Caleb Holley joined the Vegas Knight Hawks. He is currently a wide receiver for this team in the Indoor Football League (IFL).
