Calumetville is a small community in Wisconsin. It's called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government like a city or village. Instead, it's part of larger areas called towns.
This community is special because it sits right on the border between two counties: Calumet County and Fond du Lac County. The main part of Calumetville is in the town of Calumet, and another part is in the town of Brothertown.
Calumetville is easy to find at the spot where U.S. Route 151 and County Highway HHH meet. Route 151 used to be an old military road connecting Fond du Lac to Green Bay. You can also find Lake Winnebago less than a mile to the west. Nearby towns include Pipe to the south and Brothertown to the north.

Every year, Calumetville hosts an exciting vintage gas and steam engine show. This event takes place at the RS Vintage Steel grounds. A Look Back at Calumetville's Past
Calumetville has a long and interesting history.
Early Days of the Community
The community was first settled in 1838 by a person named George White. He also helped plan out the area. White's home was one of the very first places where people voted in Fond du Lac County. In its busiest times, Calumetville was almost as important as Fond du Lac as a place for businesses.
What Calumetville Used to Be Like
Long ago, Calumetville had many different businesses. There was a butcher shop, a doctor's office, a place for events (a reception hall), a post office, and shops that made harnesses for horses. There were also blacksmiths, a hotel, a Turner Hall (a community center), and a school. Even in the 1950s and 1960s, the community had two grocery and hardware stores, two gas stations, and two taverns.
Ancient Discovery

In 2009, during a road construction project on Highway 151, something unexpected was found. Workers discovered human bones. Experts believe these bones belonged to a young adult and are part of a very old burial site. Because of this important discovery, the construction was paused. This allowed archaeologists to carefully study the site and learn more about the past.
