The Cambridge Science Park is a special place where science and technology businesses work together. It was started by Trinity College in 1970. This makes it the oldest science park in the whole United Kingdom. Many companies here have strong connections with the nearby University of Cambridge.
The park is about 3 kilometers north of Cambridge city center. It's close to a main road called the A14. You can also get there by train at Cambridge North railway station or by the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway. Right next door are the St John's Innovation Centre and the Cambridge Business Park.

A Look Back: History of the Park
The land where the Science Park now stands has a long history. It was given to Trinity College way back in 1546 by King Henry VIII. For many years, people used the land for farming.
During World War II, the US Army took over the land. They used it to get vehicles and tanks ready for D-Day. After the war, the land was left empty and unused for a while.
Then, in 1970, an idea came up from Tony Cornell. With help from Sir John Bradfield and Sir Francis Pemberton, Trinity College decided to turn the land into something new. They wanted to create a place for science and new ideas to grow. That's how the Cambridge Science Park began!
In 2017, the park got its first director. They also announced big plans to make the park even better. This included improving the buildings and helping with traffic.

Fun and Games: The Cambridge Fun Run
Every November since 1989, the Science Park hosts a special event called the Cambridge Fun Run. It's a charity race that raises money for Children in Need. Most of the people who run in it work at the businesses in and around the park.
Teams of four compete in the race. Some people even dress up in funny costumes! They can either run one lap together or do a relay race with four laps. Each lap around the Science Park ring road is about 1.1 miles (1.8 km) long. The race starts and finishes in front of the Cambridge Consultants building. After the race, medals and trophies are given out to the fastest runners and those with the best costumes.
