The `Ocean Prime` restaurant idea first opened in Troy, Michigan, in June 2008. There is also a location in Columbus called Mitchell's Ocean Club. About Cameron Mitchell, the Founder

Cameron Mitchell is the person who started Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. He is also the company's president. He became well-known in the restaurant world in 2008. This was when he sold two of his company's restaurant ideas, Mitchell's/Columbus Fish Market and Mitchell's/Cameron's Steakhouse, to another company for a lot of money. There were 22 restaurants in total that were sold.

Cameron Mitchell graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1986. This is a very famous school for chefs. He was the first former student to become the Chairman Emeritus of the school's Board of Trustees. He has also given the most money to the school out of all its past students.

In 1993, Cameron Mitchell started his company by opening his very first restaurant, Cameron's American Bistro. As he created more new restaurant ideas and made his popular ones bigger, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants grew a lot. Before he sold his two biggest restaurant ideas in 2008, the company was making over $120 million in sales each year.
