Early Life and School
Candelaria Molfese grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is the youngest of five sisters. Her parents divorced when she was 12 years old. Her father later moved to Mexico City, which Cande often visits and considers her second home.
She went to high school at Colegio Nuestra Señora de la Misericordia in Buenos Aires. There, she helped create harmony parts for the school's Catholic choir. From a young age, Cande loved acting and art. Her mother supported her interests and let her take dance and acting lessons. However, her mother wanted her to have a normal childhood. So, Cande wasn't allowed to go to auditions or start an acting career until she was an adult. Because of this, Cande says she had a very normal childhood and still has many friends from that time.
One of her older sisters, Constanza, later became her manager when Cande started acting professionally. After high school, Cande studied musical comedy to improve her skills.
Acting Career
In 2010, Candelaria Molfese had a role in a children's musical in Argentina called Juntas y Revueltas. The show was performed in Buenos Aires.
She found out about auditions for the Disney Channel show Violetta in 2010. At that time, she didn't have any professional acting experience, photos, or a resume. Her older sister helped her by taking two pictures and making up a resume for her audition. Cande says that the famous TV shows made by Cris Morena really inspired her to become an actress.
After a successful audition, Cande was confirmed as a cast member for Violetta in late 2011. The show was made by Disney Channel Latin America and an Argentine company called Pol-ka. Filming for the first season started in September 2011 in Buenos Aires. The show first aired on May 12, 2012, and became popular worldwide for three seasons. Cande also sang on the show's music albums. She performed in two big international concert tours: "Violetta en vivo" and "Violetta Live 2015 International Tour." These tours happened during breaks from filming the show. Cande finished filming the last season of Violetta in late 2014. They filmed in Buenos Aires and Sevilla, Spain.
