Carpendale is a small town in Mineral County, West Virginia, United States. It is part of the larger Cumberland, MD-WV Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2020, about 861 people lived there.

Carpendale officially became a town on January 2, 1990. Its name comes from three older areas that joined together: Carpenters Addition, Millerdale I, and Millerdale II. The town is quite small, with no stores and only one main road leading in and out.
