Carrollton is a small town in Alabama, United States. It is the main town and county seat of Pickens County. In 2020, about 1,023 people lived there.
The Pickens County Courthouse is a very important building in Carrollton. It was built in 1877. Before this, two other courthouses in Carrollton were destroyed by fire. The first one burned down in 1865 during the American Civil War. The second one was destroyed by fire in 1876.

History of Carrollton
Carrollton became an official town in 1831. It was named after Charles Carroll. He was a famous person from Carrollton, Maryland. He was the only Roman Catholic to sign the Declaration of Independence. He also lived longer than any other signer. A post office has been open in Carrollton since 1831.
