Cathy Yan's Early Life and Education
Cathy Yan was born in China. She grew up in Northern Virginia, close to Washington, D.C.. Her father moved to the U.S. to study when she was young. Her mother followed two years later. Cathy stayed in China with her grandparents until she was four. Then, she joined her parents in America.
