Life as an Adventurer
Cecilie Skog first studied and worked as a nurse. However, after she successfully climbed Mount Everest in 2004, she decided to become a full-time adventurer. She now works as a professional guide and gives talks about her amazing journeys.
Climbing K2
In August 2008, Cecilie climbed K2, which is one of the world's most challenging mountains. Her husband, Rolf Bae, was climbing with her. Sadly, Rolf and ten other climbers passed away during the difficult trip down the mountain. Cecilie faced a very dangerous moment herself. A climber accidentally bumped into her and fell, but she managed to stay safe.
Crossing Antarctica
In January 2010, Cecilie completed an incredible journey across Antarctica. She and her climbing partner, Ryan Waters, spent 70 days on this trip. From November 13, 2009, to January 21, 2010, they traveled over 1,800 kilometers. They did this without any outside help or new supplies, making it a truly remarkable achievement.
