Chad Oliver Scott, born on September 6, 1974, is a former American football player. He was a talented cornerback in the NFL. Chad was chosen early in the NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers and also played for the New England Patriots. Before turning pro, he played college football for the Maryland Terrapins.

Chad Scott was born in Capitol Heights, Maryland. He went to Suitland High School in Forestville, Maryland. After high school, he studied at Towson University and the University of Maryland. At the University of Maryland, he focused on kinesiological sciences, which is the study of how the body moves.

Joining the NFL
The Pittsburgh Steelers picked Chad Scott in the first round of the 1997 NFL draft. He was the 24th player chosen overall. This was a big achievement for him.
Playing for the Steelers
Chad played for the Steelers from 1997 to 2004. During his time with the team, he made 21 interceptions. An interception is when a defensive player catches a pass meant for an offensive player. Four of his interceptions were returned for touchdowns, which means he ran all the way to the end zone after catching the ball! He was released by the Steelers in February 2005.
Time with the Patriots
After leaving the Steelers, Chad signed with the New England Patriots in April 2005. He played for them until 2007. Unfortunately, he had some injuries during his career. He missed the 1998 season and the 2007 season because of injuries, including a knee injury he got during training camp in 2007.
