Chelyabinsk Oblast is a large region, also called an oblast, in Russia. It is located near the Ural Mountains, which form a natural border between Europe and Asia. The main city and administrative center of this region is Chelyabinsk. In 2020, about 3.4 million people lived there.

The land in Chelyabinsk Oblast is mostly flat. It is about 200 to 250 meters above sea level. This means it's not very high up.

Most of the region has a Humid continental climate. This type of climate means the summers are warm or mild. The winters, however, are quite cold.

People and Cultures
Many different groups of people live in Chelyabinsk Oblast. A survey from 2010 showed the main ethnic groups.
- About 83.8% of the people are Russians.
- Around 5.4% are Tatars.
- About 4.8% are Bashkirs.
- Other groups include Ukrainians, Kazakhs, Germans, Belarusians, Mordvins, and Armenians.
In 2010, more people were dying than being born. But since then, the number of births has slowly started to be higher than deaths.
