Chestnut Ridge

Chestnut Ridge is a village in Rockland County, New York. It is located north of New Jersey. You can find it east of Airmont. To its south is Spring Valley. To its west is Nanuet.

In 2020, about 10,505 people lived here. Chestnut Ridge became an official village in 1986. Before that, it was part of the town of Ramapo. It was sometimes called "South Spring Valley." In 2020, Chaim Rose became the first Hasidic member of the village board.

  • Duryea Farm at 101 Ackertown Road is a special farm. It started in 1883. Today, it grows organic fruits and vegetables. The public used to be invited to harvests.
  • Little Red Schoolhouse Museum is at 50 Schoolhouse Road. This building was once a one-room schoolhouse. It was built in 1890 and used until the 1970s. Now, it is a museum where you can learn about its history.
