Chilchinbito (Navajo: Tsiiłchin Biiʼ Tó) is a small community located on the Navajo Nation. This area covers parts of four states in the Four Corners region of the United States.

Chilchinbito is a special type of community called a census-designated place (CDP). It is found in Navajo County, Arizona. In 2020, about 769 people lived there.

Chilchinbito was one of the first places on the Navajo Nation to have cases of the coronavirus pandemic.

History

On March 17, 2020, the first case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on the Navajo Nation was found. It was a 46-year-old person from Chilchinbito.

This person was tested in a hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Two days later, the Navajo Health Command Operations Center ordered Chilchinbito to be quarantined. This meant people had to stay home to stop the virus from spreading.
