Christine Tremarco, born in 1977, is an English actress. She started her acting journey in 1992 when she was just 15 years old. Her first big role was in a TV miniseries called The Leaving of Liverpool. For this role, she was even nominated for an AACTA Award, which is a big award for actors.
Christine has appeared in many popular TV shows. These include Waterloo Road (from 2007 to 2009), Casualty (from 2010 to 2013), and Emmerdale (in 2024). She also acted in the miniseries Little Boy Blue (2017), Clink (2019), and Wolfe (2021). In 2025, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for her role as Manda Miller in Adolescence.

Christine Tremarco's Early Life and First Acting Role
Christine Tremarco went to St Cecilia's Catholic Infant and Junior Schools. Later, she attended Holly Lodge Girls' College. She was very talented in school plays. After someone saw her perform, she was invited to join a new dance and drama school.
Soon after, a casting agent noticed her at a local drama group. This led to her being offered a main role in The Leaving of Liverpool (1993). This was a two-part TV film about British children who were sent to Australia in the 1950s. Christine played a strong orphan named Lily. Her performance was so good that she was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Lead Actress in a Television Drama.

Starting Out: Films and TV in the 1990s
After her first movie, Priest (1994), Christine appeared in a TV show called Springhill. This show was set in Liverpool, and she played Trish Freeman from 1996 to 1997.
She then took on supporting roles in British films like Under the Skin and Face, both released in 1997. In 1999, she starred as Charleen in Hold Back the Night. Critics praised her work, with The Observer calling it "impressive." The Guardian also said she showed "teenage rage more viciously than I've ever seen it." That same year, she was in the Channel 4 TV film Dockers (1999). This drama was based on a real event, the Liverpool dockers' dispute, and was nominated for a British Academy Television Award.
2000s: Theatre, Movies, and Waterloo Road
In 2001, Christine performed in a play called Presence at the Royal Court Theatre. She played a German waitress who wanted to pretend she was American. Her acting in the play was well-received by critics.
After this, she had important roles in films such as Anita and Me (2002), Gifted (2003), and The Trouble with Men and Women (2005). She also had a key role in the first series of the BBC/HBO thriller Five Days.
From 2007 to 2009, Christine became a regular on the BBC drama Waterloo Road. She played Davina Shackleton, a learning support assistant at the school. In May 2009, she starred as Ellie Morgan in an episode of the BBC series Moving On. Her character was a woman who was losing her home and had to sell it.
2010s to Present: More TV Roles and Adolescence Success
In January 2010, Christine Tremarco appeared in two episodes of the BBC medical drama Casualty. Audiences really liked her character, Linda Andrews, an A&E nurse. Because of this, she was brought back as a regular cast member the next year.
She left Casualty in May 2013. After that, she had supporting roles in miniseries like Glue (2014) and Safe House (2015). She also had a small part in the 2015 film Hector. In 2017, she co-starred as Marie Thompson in the ITV drama Little Boy Blue. She played a parent whose son was involved in a very serious incident.
Christine has continued to have leading and recurring roles in TV series. These include Clink (2019), Wolfe (2021), The Responder (2022), and The Gathering (2024). In 2024, she joined the cast of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale. She played the character Rose Jackson for four months.
In March 2025, Christine starred in the four-part crime drama series Adolescence on Netflix. The show was very popular and had record viewing figures. Her performance as Manda Miller was highly praised. Manda Miller was a mother dealing with the news that her 13-year-old son was involved in a serious incident.
