History of Chuckles

How Chuckles Started

Chuckles candy was first made in 1921 by a person named Fred W. Amend. The very first factory where these candies were produced was in Danville, Illinois.

Changing Owners

Over the years, Chuckles candy has been owned by several different companies. In 1970, a big company called Nabisco bought the Chuckles Company. Later, in 1986, the company changed hands again and became part of Leaf.

In 1996, The Hershey Company, another famous candy maker, took over Chuckles. After that, in 2002, Chuckles joined Farley's & Sathers. This company later joined with Ferrara Pan in 2012, forming the Ferrara Candy Company. Today, the Chuckles brand is owned by Iconic IP Interests, LLC.

Chuckles and Evel Knievel

From 1974 to 1975, Chuckles candy even sponsored a famous stuntman named Evel Knievel. He was known for his daring jumps and stunts!
