The Church of Santa María de Loreto de Achao, often called the Church of Achao, is a beautiful old Catholic church. It is located in Achao, the biggest town on Quinchao Island in Chile. This church is part of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ancud. It was built a long time ago, around 1740. At that time, the Chiloé Archipelago was still part of Spain.

Discovering the Church of Achao
The Achao church is one of the oldest traditional churches in Chiloé. It was built in the 1700s and 1800s. It still looks much like it did during the time of the Jesuit missions.
