The Church of Vilupulli (in Spanish, Iglesia de Vilupulli) is a beautiful Catholic church found in the small town of Vilupulli. This town is part of the commune of Chonchi, which is located on the amazing Chiloé Archipelago in southern Chile.
This church is special because it was built at the start of the 1900s. It is dedicated to Saint Anthony, who is its patron saint. A patron saint is like a special protector. Saint Anthony's feast day, which is a day of celebration, is on June 13.

Why is the Church of Vilupulli important?
The Church of Vilupulli is very important to Chile's history and culture. In 1971, it was named a National Monument of Chile. This means it is a protected site because of its historical value.
A World Heritage Site
Even more special, the Church of Vilupulli is one of 16 Churches of Chiloé that are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site list. It was added to this important list on November 30, 2000. Being a World Heritage Site means it is recognized as a place of great value to all of humanity.
