Cinquefoil Mountain is a mountain peak in Alberta, Canada. It stands at 2,256 m (7,402 ft) tall. You can find it in the Athabasca River valley, inside Jasper National Park. This mountain is part of the Jacques Range in the amazing Canadian Rockies.
The mountain got its name in 1916. A surveyor named Morrison P. Bridgland named it after a plant called cinquefoil. This plant grows a lot in the area. Bridgland was a land surveyor who named many mountains in Jasper Park. The name "Cinquefoil Mountain" became official in 1928. This was decided by the Geographical Names Board of Canada.
Mountain Weather
Cinquefoil Mountain has a subarctic climate. This means it has very cold and snowy winters. The summers are usually mild, not too hot. Temperatures can drop below -20 °C (that's -4 °F). With the wind chill, it can feel even colder, sometimes below -30 °C (-22 °F).
All the rain and melting snow from Cinquefoil Mountain flows into small streams. These streams then join the larger Athabasca River.
