Clara City is a small city in Chippewa County, Minnesota, United States. In 2020, about 1,423 people lived there. It is known as the "Crossroads of the Prairie."

History of Clara City

Clara City started as a railroad station in 1887. This was a stop for trains on the Willmar & Sioux Falls Railway. The city was named after Clara Koch. She was the wife of one of the people who helped start the town. Clara City officially became a city in September 1891.

Geography and Location

Clara City is located in the state of Minnesota. The city covers an area of about 1.88 square miles (4.87 square kilometers). All of this area is land. There is no water within the city limits.

Two important roads, Highway 7 and Highway 23, run through Clara City. These highways help people travel to and from the city.
