Clyde is a small city located in Cloud County, Kansas, in the United States. It's found east of Concordia right along state highway K-9. As of the 2020 census, about 694 people lived in Clyde.

History of Clyde
Clyde was first planned out in 1867. This makes it the oldest town in all of Cloud County. The city might have been named after the River Clyde in Scotland. Another idea is that it was named after Clyde, Ohio, which also got its name from the Scottish river.
Clyde grew quite a bit in 1877. This happened when the Central Branch Railroad built its tracks through the town.

The sports teams for Clifton-Clyde High School are called the Eagles. Before 1981, when the schools joined together, Clyde High School's mascot was the Bluejays.
The Clyde Bluejays had some great sports teams! They won the Kansas State High School 1A Football championship in 1977. They also won the boys 1A Basketball championship in 1979.
Famous People from Clyde
Some notable people have come from Clyde:
- George Dockins was a Major League Baseball pitcher. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1945 and the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947.
- Louise Davis McMahon (1873–1966) was a kind person who gave money to help others. She was known as a philanthropist.
- Louis M. Mollier (1846–1911) was an important Roman Catholic priest. He served in different areas of Kansas for many years.
