The Story of Coffee Time
How Coffee Time Began
Coffee Time was started in 1982 by a person named Tom Michalopoulos. The very first store opened in a town called Bolton, Ontario. At first, the stores were run under special agreements. Later, in the late 1980s, Coffee Time started using a system called franchising. This means other people could open their own Coffee Time stores using the company's name and ideas.
Growing the Business
In October 2006, the company that owns Coffee Time, called Chairman's Brand Corporation, bought another food group. This group owned other well-known chains like Robin's Donuts, 241 Pizza, and Mrs. Powell's Cinnamon Buns. This helped Coffee Time's parent company grow even bigger.
Around 2014, Coffee Time began to update its stores. They also started to change their brand image. This helped to give the shops a fresh, new look.
The Coffee Time Arena
In 1998, an indoor soccer arena was built in Vaughan, Ontario. For a few years, it was named "Coffee Time Arena." It was located near an industrial area and a sports park. The complex also had an outdoor soccer field.
The name "Coffee Time Arena" was used for only three years. In the early 2000s, the arena was sold. It was then renamed "The Soccer Centre."
