In 2020, about 6,216 people lived there. Cold Spring is part of the larger Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky area. An organization called Disabled American Veterans used to be based in Cold Spring.

Where is Cold Spring?
Cold Spring is located in the northern part of Campbell County. It shares borders with several other cities. To the northwest is Wilder, and to the north is Highland Heights. Crestview is to the northeast. To the southeast, you'll find Alexandria. The Licking River is to the southwest, with Taylor Mill on the other side.
Two main roads pass through Cold Spring. U.S. Route 27, also known as Alexandria Pike, goes northwest about 8 miles to downtown Cincinnati. It also goes southeast about 5 miles to Alexandria. Kentucky Route 9 is another important road. It's a highway that leads northwest to Newport, which is across the Ohio River from Cincinnati. It also goes southeast towards Maysville.
The total area of Cold Spring is about 12.3 square kilometers (4.75 square miles). All of this area is land.
A Bit of History
The name "Cold Spring" comes from a cold stream. For many years, this stream was the only source of drinking water for the community. People started living here before the year 1800. A post office was set up in 1832. Later, this post office joined with the one in Highland Heights.
