Cory Bartholomew Redding (born November 15, 1980) is a former American football player. He played as a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). Cory was chosen by the Detroit Lions in the third round of the 2003 NFL draft. Before that, he played college football for the Texas Longhorns. During his career, Redding also played for the Seattle Seahawks, Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, and Arizona Cardinals.

Early Life and High School Sports
Cory Redding was born in Houston, Texas. He showed great talent in sports from a young age.
He played football at North Shore High School. In his final year, 1999, he was named the Defensive Player of the Year by USA Today. He was also recognized as an All-American player, meaning he was one of the best high school players in the country. Besides football, Cory was also a star in track and field. He won the state championship in the discus event twice, during his junior and senior years.
College Football Career
Cory Redding continued his football journey at the University of Texas. He played for the Texas Longhorns college team. During his four years there, he was a key player on the defensive line.
He was chosen twice for the All-Big 12 Conference team, which means he was one of the top players in his college league. Cory played in every game during his college career. He even started 35 games in a row as a defensive lineman. By the end of his college time, he had made 201 tackles and 21 sacks. These numbers show how strong and effective he was on the field.

Playing for the Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions picked Cory Redding in the third round of the 2003 NFL draft. He was the 66th player chosen overall.
