About the Corydoras Semiaquilus
This little fish can grow up to about 6 centimeters (2.4 inches) long. It likes to live in warm, tropical climates. The water it lives in usually has a pH level between 6.0 and 8.0. It also prefers water with a hardness of 2.0 to 25 dGH. The perfect temperature for this fish is between 22 and 26 degrees Celsius (72–79 degrees Fahrenheit).
What They Eat
Corydoras semiaquilus are not picky eaters! They enjoy a varied diet. They often look for food at the bottom of rivers and streams. Their meals can include:
- Worms
- Small crustaceans (like tiny shrimp) that live near the bottom
- Insects
- Bits of plant matter
How They Reproduce
When it's time to lay eggs, these fish look for places with lots of thick plants. They lay their eggs among the dense vegetation. Interestingly, the adult fish do not stay to guard their eggs after they are laid. The eggs are left to develop on their own.
