Coventry is a small village in the state of Vermont, United States. It is located in Orleans County. This village is also called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is a special area defined by the government for counting people.
In 2020, about 111 people lived in Coventry village. The whole town of Coventry, which includes the village, had a population of 1,100 people.
Where is Coventry Village?
Coventry village is in the central part of Orleans County. It sits on the southern edge of the larger town of Coventry. To the south, it shares a border with the town of Irasburg.
Main Roads
Two important roads pass near Coventry village. U.S. Route 5 runs along the eastern side of the community. If you go north on US 5 for about 6 miles (10 km), you will reach Newport. If you go southeast the same distance, you will arrive at Orleans.
Vermont Route 14 also follows US 5 along the eastern edge of Coventry. However, Route 14 leads to different places. Going north on Route 14 for about 7 miles (11 km) takes you to Newport Center. Traveling south for about 6 miles (10 km) leads to Irasburg.
Rivers and Waterways
The Black River flows along the western side of Coventry village. This river continues its journey north. Eventually, it flows into Lake Memphremagog near the city of Newport.
