Cressing is a charming place located between the towns of Braintree and Witham. It's easy to get to bigger places like Braintree Shopping Village, which is just a short trip away.
What's in Cressing?
The Cressing parish has a few important places. You can find two churches here, along with a public house called Fowlers Farm [1]. There's also a restaurant called Il Salice [2].

Just about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of Cressing village is Cressing Temple. This historic site is less than 1 mile east of White Notley village. Cressing Temple is famous for its old barns and buildings that date back to the Knights Templar. It's a great place to learn about history!
Famous People from Cressing
Cressing is the birthplace of a very important historical figure, Sir Evelyn Wood (1838–1919). He was a highly respected British Army officer who became a Field Marshal. He also received the Victoria Cross, which is the highest award for bravery in the British military.
