Crockett County is a county found in the state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 census, about 13,911 people lived there. The main town and county seat is Alamo. Crockett County is part of the larger Jackson, TN area.

History of Crockett County
Crockett County was created in 1871. It was formed from parts of nearby counties like Haywood, Madison, Dyer, and Gibson. The county is named after David Crockett (1786–1836). He was a famous frontiersman, soldier, and politician from Tennessee. He is also known for defending the Alamo.
In 1883, an important legal case called United States v. Harris involved Crockett County. The Supreme Court made a ruling in this case. It decided that the county's sheriff could not be charged under federal law for certain actions.

Crockett County covers a total area of about 266 square miles. Most of this area is land. Only a very small part, about 0.2 square miles, is water.
