Crystal Bay is a small community located on the north shore of Lake Tahoe in Washoe County, Nevada. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area identified by the United States Census Bureau for statistical purposes.
In 2020, about 337 people lived in Crystal Bay. It is considered part of the larger Reno−Sparks metropolitan area. Before 2010, Crystal Bay was grouped with another nearby community called Incline Village for census information.

Geography of Crystal Bay
Crystal Bay is nestled right on the northern edge of Lake Tahoe. The land here rises from the lake shore. The lowest points are about 6,229 feet (1,899 meters) above sea level. The highest parts of the community reach over 6,800 feet (2,073 meters) high.
The community sits right next to the border with California. This means you can easily cross into California from Crystal Bay. The total area of Crystal Bay is about 0.78 square miles (2.0 square kilometers). A good portion of this area, about 42%, is water from Lake Tahoe.
