Crystal Peak is a well-known mountain peak. It is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains in California, United States. This peak is found in the southwest part of Santa Clara County.

Crystal Peak is about 10 miles (16 km) west of Morgan Hill. It is also about 0.5 miles (0.8 km) northeast of another peak called Loma Prieta. Crystal Peak is special because it is the second highest peak in the entire Santa Cruz Mountains.

A small river, called Llagas Creek, starts on the eastern side of Crystal Peak. This creek flows south. Eventually, it joins with the Pajaro River near the border of San Benito County.

How Crystal Peak Got Its Name

The top of Crystal Peak has a special name. It was named because of a radio communications building located there. This building helps send and receive radio signals.

The name also honors the early days of "crystal radio" technology. Crystal radios were simple radios that used a special crystal to pick up radio waves. This was an important step in how radios developed.
