Cunter is a small village in Switzerland. It is located in a beautiful area called Sursés, which is part of the Graubünden canton. Cunter used to be its own municipality, but on January 1, 2016, it joined with several other villages to form a new, larger municipality called Surses. This means Cunter is now part of a bigger community.

Cunter has a long history! The village was first mentioned in official records way back in 1370. Back then, it was known by a slightly different name: Contra. For a long time, until 1943, it was also called Conters im Oberhalbstein.

Cunter is nestled in the Surses region, which is part of the Albula district. It sits right on the road that leads to the famous Julier Pass, a mountain pass that connects different valleys. You'll find Cunter between the towns of Tiefencastel and Savognin.

There are also buildings and roads, making up a small part of the land, and the rest is made up of natural features like rivers or mountains.
