Cusson is a small, unincorporated community located in Leiding Township, within Saint Louis County, Minnesota, United States. It is part of the beautiful Arrowhead Region of Minnesota, known for its many forests and lakes. An unincorporated community means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town with its own local government.

Where is Cusson Located?

Cusson is found in the northern part of Minnesota. It sits just north of a town called Orr. You can find Cusson right along U.S. Highway 53, which is a major road. It's also about 21 miles north of another community named Cook.

This small community is surrounded by nature. It is located inside the Kabetogama State Forest. This forest is a large area of trees and wilderness, perfect for outdoor activities.

A Look Back: Cusson's History

Cusson has a short but interesting history. A post office was opened in Cusson in 1909. This post office helped people send and receive mail in the area. However, it closed down about 20 years later, in 1929.

Cusson was also an important stop for trains. It served as a station on the Duluth, Winnipeg and Pacific Railway. Train stations were places where trains would stop to pick up or drop off passengers and goods. This shows that Cusson was once a busy spot for travel and trade.
