Cyclone Jal was a type of storm called a "severe cyclonic storm." This means it had very strong winds and could cause a lot of damage. It started far away in the South China Sea on October 31, 2010.
Where Did Jal Travel?
After forming, Cyclone Jal first moved towards Thailand and Malaysia. It then continued its journey across the Bay of Bengal and reached India. In India, the storm hit the states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and parts of Kerala. Some of its moisture, which is like wet air, even traveled to the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
How Did Jal Affect People?
