Cydonie Camille Mothersille (born on March 19, 1978) is a former track and field athlete from the Cayman Islands. She was a very fast runner, known as a sprinter. When she first started, she mainly ran the 100 metres race. Over time, the 200 metres became her best event.
Cydonie represented her country in many big competitions. She competed in four Olympic Games between 1996 and 2008. She also took part in six World Championships in Athletics and three Commonwealth Games. Her biggest wins were in the 200-meter race. She won a bronze medal at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics. She also earned a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. In 2003, she won a silver medal at the 2003 Pan American Games. Her World Championship medal was the first ever for the Cayman Islands! She received this medal later because some other athletes were found to have used banned substances.

Early Life and Start in Sports
Cydonie Mothersille was born in Jamaica in 1978. When she was seven years old, she moved to Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands.
Discovering Her Talent
While Cydonie was in high school, her physical education teacher, Evelyn Rockette, noticed her talent. This is how Cydonie's amazing running career began.
Competing for the Cayman Islands
Cydonie started competing for the Cayman Islands in the CARIFTA Games. These games are for young athletes from Caribbean countries. In 1996, she did very well, winning both the 100-meter and 200-meter sprint races. Because of her great performance, she received the Austin Sealy Trophy. This award is given to the most outstanding athlete at the CARIFTA Games.
College Athletics
Cydonie went to Clemson University for college. There, she continued to compete in track and field. She ran in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and relay races (4 × 100 meters and 4 × 400 meters). She was part of the Clemson team that earned "All-American" honors in both the 4 × 100 and 4 × 400 relay teams. This means her team was among the best in the country.

Cydonie Mothersille was coached by Henry Rolle. She is married to Ato Stephens. In 2011, Cydonie was the highest-paid athlete from the Cayman Islands.
